RS2--daniel

I guess I'm just lazy, but re-reading Time and Timelines, Daniel said that to grasp the reciprocal nature of s/t and t/s is to understand the the relation between the rational number and the imaginary number. It's been a long time since I've studied math, but I feel I can grasp this concept with a little help.

Can anyone link me to an explanation of the complex number, or describe here how it is related to understanding the relationship between s/t and t/s?

I'm going to read Peret's intro to RS2, too.

I've read The Case against the Nuclear Atom twice and the 3 volumes of Nothing But Motion twice and I have just read Beyond space And Time. I just read your Geochronology twice. I need to read them all again.

I have a bunch of questions which probably show how much I have gotten wrong. Let's start with the first. In Geochronology you say

• the two linear units from zero to the one-dimensional limit correspond to eight three-dimensional units. The constituents of the white dwarf are thus distributed to a number of distinct speed levels, with a maximum of seven.

Is that in Chapter 6 The Dwarf Star Cycle? The online text doesn't have page numbers,

I've had a hard time understanding what the two linear units are and how that corresponds to eight three-dimension (scalar?) units. You are very good with analogies and pictures. Do you have one for that concept?

Chapter 7, and the online text DOES have page numbers. Click on Universe of Motion in the menu on the left, and down the bottom of the chapter list there is a "Page Index" (just above "References") that brings up all the page numbers in the book, and you can click on the page number and it takes you right to that page.

Just think in terms of "Diagon Alley"... diagonals on a unit radius line, square and cube.

1D: 0 -> +1, 0 -> -1 -- 2 units

2D: (0,0) -> (+1,+1), (0,0) -> (+1,-1), (0,0) -> (-1,+1), (0,0) -> (-1,-1) -- 4 units

3D: (0,0,0) -> (+1,+1,+1), (0,0,0) -> (+1,+1,-1), ... (0,0,0) -> (-1,-1,-1) -- 8 units

In math terms, 2¹ = 2; 2² = 4; 2³ = 8.

• Does a white dwarf scatter randomly into 3D time or concentrate locally in time?

(or does it break up into 8 parts based on the 8 diagonal ends of the speed cube and concentrate locally in time there)

• Are the atoms of an apple scattered in 3D time?

First, you need to remember you are talking "motion" (speed), not geometry. Scattering depends on speed. Intermediate speed has 2d in space, and 1d in time, so it looks planar (ring) in space and linear (jet) in time. Ultra-high speeds have 1d in space and 2d in time, so they are the reverse--a jet in space and a ring in time. That "ring" is what we call an orbital position, and there can be up to 8, concentric rings.

There can be any number of "parts," but each part will have a distinct, quantized speed in one of the 8 speed ranges. Those speed ranges form the orbits.

No. Atoms (Larson's "time region") are organized in 3D space. Think "marbles stuck on graph paper." Each marble is a "solid of time" making up an atom, arranged on the 3D spatial graph to give structure.
