Daniel,

Just wanted to mention that you may want to check out Dr Garrett Smith:

https://nutritionrestored.com

For around $500 he'll do a complete work up on you including a hair analysis and full blood analysis to see if you have any vitamin/mineral deficiencies or toxicity. He's big on Vitamin A toxicity and what I like is he uses hair and blood tests to determine a baseline of where you're currently at. When I had the tests done he found I was deficient in Molybdenum and had slightly elevated levels of Vitamin A. He was pretty amazed that my Magnesium levels were in the normal range as most people aren't but when I told him of my supplement (milk of magnesia mixed with carbonated water) he was not longer surprised. He's really is into this stuff and spends a great deal of his time studying how one can achieve and maintain optimum health.

Best of luck to you on your path to recovery.

Thanks for the link. I've already assumed I'm nutritionally deficient in many things, given my former "western" diet of meat, fat and carbs. About three weeks ago, I took the plunge and became vegan, and am now loading up with organic foods that are loaded with minerals and other good stuff. It has been difficult, as I've always hated vegetables, but the alternative--death--is a good motivator!

I haven't liked vegetables all that much either, but nowadays I have had enough of taste of meat. It just isn't that good anymore, you know when you get fed up about the same things.

When I was in Israel back in 2011 we went to this one place where the guide said had the best Falafel in Israel, I found out they were very good. Back in Finland here I would need to go about 10 kms to get good falafel from this one Turkish fellow (maybe some other middle-eastern country man cant recall for sure now). He has small kiosk on the side of the road and is vegetarian himself so that is a good sign for the food if you want vegan.

I haven't had it in me to make my own falafel, I know the main ingredients though, but it would require some more time to do and of course perfect. I have been lazy therefore, but at some point there is a limit for meat products that has to be crossed so.

So my suggestion is to try some of that middle-eastern quisine especially falafel, ask the people and restaurants where they make or have selfmade falafels, thats the ones to look for. Vegetarian "meat"balls and other falafel that comes from factory largely produced stuff is plain garbage, at least here in Finland (most likely in every coutry therefore, can be deduced), for some who do not have "tastebuds" it might be enough.

...... for the first time in 6 months, I have hope that I may actually recover from my prostate cancer.
Salutations daniel.
I've been absent for a long time from this website and I'm sorry to hear of your cancer.
Back in early April this year, the guy who fits my spectacles at the opticians told me that he's leaving because he found that he has prostate cancer.
I advised him to decline chemotherapy and I cobbled together some links on how to deal with his condition.
Mostly it's about a guy who cured his advanced prostate cancer with molasses and baking soda.
Here's some links for your consideration.
I have to stress that I am not a doctor nor have I ever followed that protocol

Another thing - do not ever microwave your food
A guy in another forum said he did that for 20 years, using plastic plates/containers.
He said he developed diabetes from doing that and he's now educated himself on nutrition.
Microwaving food destroys the nutrients and using plastic results in those nasty chemicals seeping into the food - a pretty nasty combination.
The supermarkets here have aisles and aisles of microwavable meals in convenient plastic containers.
I look at them and see them all as poison.
It's no surprise that there's some very obese people around - obesity is a sign of malnutrition

Fulvic acid is a good supplement and almost everyone is deficient in iodine
Iodoral is one way of plugging the iodine deficiency

One good reason to go vegan is because of the dreadful farming practices in the USA.
Did you know that they've been feeding arsenic to chickens?

https://nutritionfacts.org/video/where- ... transcript
Let me tell you “a tale of” arsenic in chicken. Arsenic “is well known as a poison by anyone who reads mysteries or the history of the Borgias.” “[W]ith its long and colorful history, arsenic is not something that people want in their food.” So, when a biostats student went to the USDA 17 years ago “in search of a project” for his master’s degree, he decided to look into it. What he found was this “startling difference…” Arsenic levels in chicken were like three times that of other meats. His veterinary colleagues were like, “Duh,” though. I mean, don’t you know we feed four different types of arsenic-containing antibiotic drugs to poultry? Since, you know, like 1944.

So, “[w]hile arsenic-based drugs have been fed to poultry since the…40s, recognition of this source of exposure for humans only occurred after [this student churned through] the data.” It was published in 2004, expanded upon in 2006. The National Chicken Council was none too pleased, saying lots of foods are contaminated with arsenic. “By focusing specifically on chicken, the [Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy] makes it clear that” their true objective is to force chicken “producers to stop using these safe and effective products”—by which they mean these arsenic-containing drugs, which they admit to using, but say, don’t worry they use organic arsenic, “not the inorganic form made infamous in ‘Arsenic and Old Lace'”—that is, apparently, until you cook it. When you cook chicken, it appears some of the arsenic drug in the meat turns into the Arsenic and Old Lace variety.

.... in 2013, a coalition of nine groups got together and sued the FDA, and by December 31, 2015, all arsenic-containing poultry drugs were withdrawn. So, as of 2016, arsenic will no longer be fed to chickens. The bad news is that without the arsenic-containing drug roxarsone, chicken may lose some of its “appealing pink color.”

In the end, the poultry industry only got away with exposing the American public to arsenic for 72 years.
And the arsenic in those chickens also ended up in beef and milk products

http://www.pickle-publishing.com/papers ... l-feed.htm
Recycled animal waste, such as processed chicken manure and litter, has been used as a feed ingredient for almost 40 years. This animal waste contains large amounts of protein, fiber, and minerals, and has been deliberately mixed into animal feed for these nutrients. .... Normally, this animal waste is used by small farmers and owners of beef and dairy herds as a winter supplement for mother cows and weaned calves.

And I have an anecdote on the meat processing practices.
I can't prove this is true
It's something I read in a forum
It was a discussion on burgers.
This guy said he went to see his buddy who worked in a small supermarket
The buddy was preparing beef for mincing into burgers.
He watched his buddy trim bits off the meat, threw those in the bin before feeding the meat into the mincer.
He asked the buddy what he was doing.
The buddy explained that he was cutting the cancerous growths off the meat before mincing the rest.
The buddy said they are an ethical supermarket, while in other places, they bung everything into the mincer to make the burgers - cancerous growths et al.
The guy was an American so I assumed he was at a supermarket in the USA
Could be a pack of lies of course .....

It would not surprise me in the least if this were true. Living in Wyoming, I've been around a lot of cattle and you would be surprised as to how many of them have visible tumors on their bodies.

If you want meat, the only way to go is Kosher.

In theory... on paper... better than average, but I have a buddy whose job entails touring the meat processing facilities from time to time - here in beautiful and sanitary ChiTown. Just as many violations in the kosher process as "regular".
Anything is possible with the proper training.
